We got Teddy

Hey, I noticed on my shortstat installation that a few people have wandered over here for the chords to the Triffid’s ‘Wide Open Road’. Just so anyone else who tries that google search doesn’t leave empty handed, here they are:

G
The drums went off in my forehead…
C
The drums went off in my chest…
G
I remember
Em
carrying the baby just for you…
Am7
Crying in the wilderness…
C D (the C you can do on guitar, but the D is really part of the bass line)

and repeat to the end, without forgetting the enormous cinematic guitar parts (part of so many 80s classics) that explode over the outro (mostly finagling around the first position D chord with some open strings).

My favourite version of this song is the one from the live album, Stockholm (I am the proud owner of the cassette version thereof – chromium dioxide clarity, though), and the lead singer’s mumbled introduction provides the post title.

Lead singer of the You Am Is, a oft-mentioned band on this site, gets paralytically drunk, attempts to play gig in front of thousands of people, storms off after three songs and then posts rambling but heartfelt apology on the band’s semi-official site.

Photographs of Japanese lunchboxes, much more aesthetically pleasing than the chopped up vegetables and salad I make bleary-eyed at 7.40am every morning.
