I think at this point it really would be easier to list the small handful of things that are NOT on the internet.

The sandwich project is sheer brilliance...

Discovered a slight flaw with the otherwise good ambient football theory: going by the cheers I heard last night I assumed England was 2-nil up against Sweden. Sadly, I'm not attuned enough to crowd noise to distinguish between an English miss/bad ref decision and Sweden scoring.

I can totally empathise with you on the delightful arrival of a Waitrose to your area up north. I felt the same way when Waitrose arrived in Sheffield almost two years ago -- I think that was the first one up north. Lucky for me, it was right on the doorstep of where I used to work. Come to think of it, it seems that the past three jobs I've had are all located within 5 minutes of a Waitrose. Hmmm.

Don't get me started on evil supermarkets or strawberries! Visit to Wye last weekend spoilt by realisation most of the gorgeous Wye Valley countryside is now covered in ugly strawberry polytunnels, as far as the eye now no longer wants to see. And despite this attempt to force the fruit, so English growers can steal a march on the importer, the supermarkets are still going for tasteless, high food-mile imports.

Your experiment will work. We spent Saturday afternoon enjoying the heat and wandering the streets of Hay-on-Wye. First goal we were in a gallery, but the shouts of joy from the butchers, huddled round a battered Roberts, across the road gave us an idea England had scored. Within 45 seconds the whispers from the closet fans admiring the artwork confirmed it was a Paraguay own goal. There is no escape from the World Cup. And I reckon the SoccerRoos might surprise.
